Configuration

Key configuration topics that go beyond the self-explanatory Settings UI.

Most settings in Torqvoice are self-explanatory. This page covers the areas that need a bit more context.

Invoice Numbering

Under Settings > Invoice > General, you can configure how invoice numbers are generated.

  • Format: Use {year} as a placeholder for the current year. For example, {year}- produces invoice numbers like 2026-001, 2026-002, etc.
  • Start number: The next invoice will use this number and increment from there. Useful if you're migrating from another system and want to continue your numbering sequence.

Quote numbering works the same way under its own prefix.

Payment Providers

Under Settings > Payment, you can connect Stripe, Vipps, or PayPal to accept online payments from customers.

Stripe

  1. Create a Stripe account if you don't have one
  2. Go to Developers > API keys in your Stripe dashboard
  3. Copy your Secret key and Publishable key into Torqvoice
  4. Set up the webhook: copy the webhook URL shown in Torqvoice, go to Developers > Webhooks in Stripe, add the URL, and copy the signing secret back into Torqvoice

Vipps

  1. Register at portal.vipps.no
  2. Copy your Client ID, Client Secret, Subscription Key, and Merchant Serial Number into Torqvoice
  3. Use Test mode to verify the integration before going live
  4. Add your terms of sale (either as text or a link to an external page)

PayPal

  1. Create a PayPal Developer account
  2. Create an app under My Apps & Credentials to get your Client ID and Client Secret
  3. Use Sandbox mode to test before accepting real payments

Importing Data

Under Settings > Data > Import, you can migrate from other tools.

From LubeLog

  1. Export your data from LubeLog as CSV
  2. Upload the file in Torqvoice
  3. Imported: vehicles, service records, and notes

From Invoice Ninja

  1. Export your data from Invoice Ninja (JSON format)
  2. Upload the file in Torqvoice
  3. Imported: customers, products, invoices, documents, and payments

Custom Roles & Permissions

Under Settings > Team > Custom Roles, you can create roles with fine-grained access control. Each role has permission groups that control what members can read, create, update, or delete.

Only the organization owner and admins can create or edit roles. When you assign a custom role to a team member, they will only see and interact with the parts of Torqvoice that role allows.

White-Label License

By default, invoices and PDFs include a small "Powered by Torqvoice" label. To remove it, purchase a white-label license from torqvoice.com and enter the key under Settings > License.

The license is validated periodically. Your current plan and status are shown on the license page.
